Becoming AI-First: Unlock Strategic Value with Confidence and Trust

At Ntegra, we’ve taken artificial intelligence (AI) from experimentation to strategic integration. AI is becoming central to our operations and we’re committed to becoming an AI-first organisation. That is, one that uses technology to strengthen what makes us unique: excellence, trust, client focus and positive impact. This journey is a core part of our commitment to leading in digital transformation and underpins the value we deliver through our digital consultancy and engineering services.

We recently brought together leaders from Actica Group (Actica Consulting, Ntegra and Gemba Advantage) for a dedicated AI Exploration Day. The session was run by our friends at UptakeAI and it was far more than just a learning event. It was a chance to step back, reflect on our ambitions and explore how confident we feel using AI in our day-to-day work and how it can fuel our innovation pipeline. We combined open conversations with hands-on exploration and came away energised about what’s possible.

AI That Works for Us

We’re already seeing the benefits of artificial intelligence in digital transformation. It’s speeding up the generation of insights, supporting better decision-making and (most importantly) helping us focus on high-value tasks. We go beyond chasing trends and build from the inside out, testing tools like Copilot in real-world settings and learning what works through experience.

Our approach is grounded in our values. That’s why (with help from UptakeAI) we’ve created and are developing our Responsible Use Framework built around three simple principles: Use it. Own it. Respect it. Every use of AI should be guided by ethical, legal and professional standards, and human oversight is always part of the process.

Encouraging Smarter Ways of Working

We’re encouraging our people to explore how generative AI (GenAI) tools can help them get more out of their day. Whether it’s summarising documents, drafting emails, or turning bullet points into a blog post structure, we want everyone to find ways to “hack” their own productivity. Of course, this is all done within clear guardrails. We don’t use client or confidential data and every AI-assisted output is reviewed before it’s used. These are small but powerful steps in supporting a people-led approach to consulting digital transformation.

We’ve also built internal AI-powered tools to support knowledge work across the business. These tools help us surface insights faster, streamline internal processes and collaborate more effectively. Building a Culture of Confidence and Curiosity

The workshop with UptakeAI sparked some great conversations. We talked openly about the risks and opportunities of AI, challenged assumptions and reaffirmed our commitment to using it in a way that’s transparent, thoughtful and human-centred.

We have lots of ideas in the innovation pipeline, from rolling out AI champions across the group to hosting regular lunch-and-learn sessions (who doesn't need to go to "Prompt School"?). These are designed to build confidence, share practical examples and support everyone as we continue to explore what AI can do. This continues to be the foundation of a long-term shift in how we work.

Becoming AI-first isn’t about using every new tool that comes along or blindly using GenAI for every task. It’s about thinking to embed AI into our strategy, our governance and our everyday decisions. It’s about strengthening our culture and enhancing the experience of our people and clients.

We know many of our clients are asking similar questions. How do we use AI responsibly? How do we protect data and reputation? How do we make sure AI supports our values, not undermines them? How do we select or build tools that are right for our enterprise and use cases?
